All Official Junior A and B's must purchase the electronic sensor socks. Our federation will be bringing in a limited number of these mandatory foot protectors and will sell them below wholesale price of $60 (incl. taxes). All official Junior A and B must have these in order to compete in the sparring.

Congratulations to Grandmaster Denis Chen who was a recipient of the 2011 Sport BC Presidents' Award !
This annual award is an opportunity to acknowledge and thank an individual who has demonstrated outstanding dedication and commitment to their provincial sport organization through the spirit of volunteerism. BC Taekwondo Federation would like to thank Grandmaster Chen for his hard work and dedication in developing the Referees/Officials program. His sincere desire to see our BC athletes grow and continue to learn in every aspect of the sport is evident in his dedication to his work in our Federation.

Thank you to all who applied for the 2010/2011 BCAAP. The focus of the BCAAP funding is for those athletes who are in the position to compete for Team BC at the Canada Games and are just below those receiving Sport Canada Athlete Assistance Program funding (S1/S2 carding levels). Funding distribution will follow recommendations outlined in the 2010/2011 BCAAP Guidelines, Policies and Procedures under the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development.
All submitted applications at this time will be reviewed by the BCAAP Selection Committee and successful nominees will be announced shortly.

Submission now open for 2011 National Championships Ranking Points
BC Taekwondo Federation is now accepting all submissions for 2011 National Championships ranking points. Athletes who wish to submit their points for inclusion in the BC Ranking Points can now do so. When submitting your points, please provide the following details:
- Name of Competition and Category (Senior or Junior A Division)
- Result (Please include a fight tree with each match results as ranking points will not be added without this information. Results will then be verified with Taekwondo Canada before any points can be included.)
Please send all information to yvonnebctkd@hotmail.com . Submissions for 2011 National Championship ranking points will be accepted up until 11:59pm PT on Friday, February 18, 2011. Any submissions received past the deadline will not be added to the BC Ranking Points.

BC Referee Workshop For The Up Coming BC Championships
There will be a referee workshop for the up coming BC Championships on Sunday February 20th from 3-7pm at Taegeuk Taekwondo 20302A Clarke Street , Port Moody.

2011 PNE Miracle Mile Athlete Bursary
Last year, a $500 PNE Miracle Mile Athlete Bursary was awarded each month to a B.C. amateur athlete who demonstrated dedication to a sport and commitment to the community. The PNE Miracle Mile Bursary will continue for 2011. The 2011 application should be updated shortly on the website but athletes are welcome to use the current application, cross off 2010 and fill in the appropriate Month, 2011. PNE Miracle Mile Bursary administrators will be more than happy to accept the application as such.

BC Taekwondo Federation in collaboration with Sport BC and BC Ferries is pleased to annouce the BC Ferries Sporting Life on the Coast Program. The BC Ferries Sporting Life on the Coast program allows teams, coaches, officials, and individuals to apply for ferry vouchers to travel to Provincial or National competitions.
Applications will be accepted for athletes competing in the upcoming 2011 National Championships in Winnipeg. All eligible applicants are advised to submit their application online as soon as possible. *Note: Please remember a child is someone who is 11 years of age or younger per BC Ferries, so when filling out the application anyone 12 years of age or older will need to be marked as an Adult.

Over the past month, BC Taekwondo Federation has been working closely with Sport BC and CSC Pacific Advisors to develop a new CSC Pacific Carding Criteria to reflect the recent changes in the Provincial Carding System. Please find below the newly approved CSC Pacific Carding Selection Criteria for the 2010-2011 cycle. Athletes receiving CSC Pacific cards can access a variety of support services, medical services, information workshops, etc. Athletes who meet the CSC Pacific Carding Criteria will be contacted shortly.
